Wanted to share with you what a customer wrote us today:

“The cookies arrived a few days after ordering and were a hit!! Our boss loved them, as well as his family. They were delighted and surprised that they were in the shape of a baseball. It really was the perfect gift for our Phillies fanatic boss. Thank you.” Robbie S., New Jersey

Also, on a Phillies note, we’re glad that the popular Phillies Nation just added us to their list of baseball blogs. We appreciate all the help getting the word out about our great tasting baseball cookies. Thanks Phillies Nation!

Shortbread Plays Small but Delicious Role in Historic Inauguration

The Obama family loves shortbread too!

Michelle Obama provided a recipe for her shortbread cookies, which the nonprofit DC Central Kitchen prepared to serve at inauguration festivities. According to a story on All Things Considered, they made 8,000 cookies.

Michelle Obama’s recipe for shortbread, which uses real butter just like all the cookies we make here at the  Cooperstown Cookie Company, is posted on NPR web site.

If you want a jumpstart, you could start with our  Classic Baseball Cookie Mix. cbsccandb

Follow the directions and mix in some orange and lemon zest, perhaps some amaretto (almond liqueur) and top with your choice of chopped nuts  (try pistachios!) or dried fruit.

Happy Inauguration Day!

Best,

Pati

Cooperstown Ready to Welcome Rickey Henderson and Jim Rice

I spoke with reporter Denise Richardson yesterday about the selection of Rickey Henderson, MLB’s career leader in stolen bases and runs, and Jim Rice, the famed Boston Red Sox outfielder, as 2009 National Baseball Hall of Fame inductees.

I told her that their election is fabulous news for Cooperstown. They are very deserving players and their following will attract a lot of fans to Cooperstown.

For us at the Cooperstown Cookie Company, we are ready for the increased demand for our MLB-licensed baseball cookie gifts, especially products with Red Sox logos.

You can read Denise’s full article on the Daily Star site. Get more details on the newest Hall of Famers, and on travel packages for Induction Weekend on the Baseball Hall of Fame web site.
